On the day my friend Willie Osborne brought it up, I took a shot looking down the side of the newly sculpted, newly dropped, and newly painted '64 Bus.
Willie decides that we need to do something unique to the bus, so we jump into adding a wood veneer ceiling! Many challenges to come!
The new wood ceiling work continues. Ribs were made from Baltic Birch ply, and then covered in 3/8" bending ply.
The bending ply step is complete! A little Bondo to fill the tiny seams, and we're on to the veneer.
Willie got after it one weekend, and wrapped the ceiling in Birch veneer and some straps in Ash.
Any blank space is a canvas for Willie!
Willie says the palm tree mural took him 45 minutes. He's got more artistic talent in one hand....
Panels and floor are in. Speakers are wired up. Now, let's get some ceiling lights and rails up!
The LED strips and wood rails are a nice touch! Let's cruise the beach!
Just back from the upholstery shop! The soft greenish-tan seat cushions finish a really understated and calm van interior. Look for this Bus at a show near you!
