Designed to seat 22 people, this enormous table has the feel of an older desk, with a rich border of Walnut, and an interior field of book-matched Koa. Laminate.
A tighter angle shows off the perfectly book-matched Koa laminate interior. Many thanks to the team at Wisconsin Built of Deerfield for executing my design for this beast!
Obviously, a 12' by 24' table can't come into this room in one piece! After making sure the quadrants were in the right spots, we inserted continuous splines and about 100 T-bolts to bring it all together! I had a small army of helpers that day! Thanks, guys!
Installation of the Big Table and the Projection Screen, in progress!
A nice photo of the steel frameworks fully assembled and wrapped in the Black Woodworks shop. We teamed up with Roberts Manufacturing in Columbus for the frame.
Using kerf-core plywood under the black laminate makes wrapping the curved table base much easier! Roberts added brackets with screw holes at every leg, so I could attach the ribs and panels. The steel allowed us to give the table an ample 30" of overhang.
We created this floor-to-ceiling pillar to help center the stonework on the head wall, and to hold the new signage.
This close-up shows the new acrylic and vinyl boardroom signage. The applied vinyl has a sparkled texture to have the appearance of etched glass. Thank you, Madison Sign Lettering!
We even created a radiused baseboard to cover the lower end of the new pillar.
The Koa laminate is nicely contrasted by the solid Walnut frame of this custom projection screen.
